I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. (Revelation 22:13)
Christ is the unique beginning of all things. There is none before Him. He precedes all things and all things originate in Him. Christ is also the end of all things. There is none after Him. Nothing and no one can outlast Him. Without Him there is no beginning or end, no origin or finish. As such a One, He covers all time and all things, from eternity to eternity.
For He Himself is our peace. (Ephesians 2:14)
In a world full of turmoil and unrest, we seek an inner peace. Christ is that peace. Rather than being tossed about by the churning waves of life, we can invite Christ to come into us. With Christ in us, although we may suffer outwardly, we will have an abiding peace inwardly. This peace surpasses every man's understanding. This peace is Christ Himself.
I am able to do all things in Him who empowers me.
(Philippians 4:13)
When we are at our weakest, we can experience Christ as our strength and power. This surpassingly great power, which caused Christ to rise from the dead, is available to us today and can be our inward strength and ability.
Now our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope in grace, comfort your hearts. (Second Thessalonians 2:16-17)
In a world rife with pain and sorrow, we do not have to suffer without consolation or
hurt without comfort. In Christ, there is a comfort that surpasses any earthly consolation. This is not temporary and transitory comfort, but eternal comfort by the divine life. This comfort is sufficient for any kind of environment and situation. The comfort that Christ gives us is none other than Himself.
God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God and God abides in him. (First John 4:16)
Christ's love is both limitless and far-reaching. No one can know all the depths of His love, yet His love is not far from us. In His love, He is seeking to win the object of His affection—us. Because of His great love for us, He came to be our Savior and our life. Nothing can separate us from this prevailing love.
Which we have as an anchor of the soul, both secure and firm and which enters within the veil. (Hebrews 6:19)
We may have cast many anchors for ourselves, but will these hold in the inevitable stormy seas of life? Christ is the anchor that keeps our soul. He is steadfast, sure, and firm. If we are joined to Him, we are safely moored and assured of withstanding whatever storm may come.
Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah. (Revelation 5:5)
In this universe God has an enemy, Satan. As the Lion of the tribe of Judah, Christ is a strong fighter who overcame and defeated this rebellious enemy of God. He fought to redeem mankind and He won the battle over Satan. When Christ as the King of the earth is provoked to wrath, He will come roaring like a lion to take possession of the earth. He is the One who has utterly destroyed and defeated the devil.
But You, O Jehovah, are a shield around me. (Psalm 3:3)
As human beings, we are vulnerable both to outward attacks against our body and inward attacks against our soul. No matter how strong we are psychologically or how many fortifications we erect around ourselves, nothing can fully protect us. Only Christ as our shield can protect us against Satan's attack. Christ is our sure defense.
Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes into Me, even if he should die, shall live. (John 11:25)
Christ is the ever-living One. He possesses an indestructible life that nothing can dissolve (Hebrews 7:16). No matter what kind of death we suffer from—spiritual, psychological, or physical—if we have Christ, we have the endless, eternal, divine, and uncreated life that can never be defeated. This resurrection life rises up from death and will always be victorious.
Jesus spoke to them, saying,
I am the light of the world. (John 8:12)
Our world is filled with darkness. This darkness is death to us spiritually, mentally and physically. But a great light has risen. Christ as the light of life is shining in the shadow of death. This light shines in the darkness, and the darkness cannot overcome it.
Jesus Christ...the Ruler of the kings of the earth. (Revelation 1:5)
He is Lord of lords and King of kings. (Revelation 17:14a)
Christ is the King of kings and Lord of lords. This is exhibited in His righteousness and stability. He is the unique Ruler of the earth. Today this fact is hidden and mysterious, but one day it will be openly revealed and known by all.
No matter what your situation, Jesus Christ desires to come into you to be your indestructible life. To receive Him, please open your heart right now and pray the following:
O Lord Jesus! Thank You for speaking Your words of life to me. I have heard Your words and believe them. You are the solid rock and the indestructible life. You died and resurrected so that I could live. I believe in You and receive You right now. Thank You for saving me!
